I think that after VK was cured, and then made himself EVO again by stealing Rex's nanites, he stopped needing to take other's nanites when he wasn't in/on Abyssus. I think when he ended up in the past, he could have built more nanites(since he was in on the project originally. )

I think vk used his nanites to make evos and maybe eat them? As far as i know the nanite in rexs chest is THE only way to make more atm. If vk van make more now thats abd

/CHUNKS HER TWO CENTS AT YOU
Vk was working on the original nanite project. So, it's possible that he could've simply recreated the nanites, right?
WELL, it's not like he can just stroll into a high tech lab in ancient Egypt. Breach could have gotten anything he would've needed from any point of time, but two things. They weren't exactly on "friendly" terms. If Breach could've portaled something in, you'd think one of them would have face palmed and said "WHY DA HELL DON'T WE JUST GO HOME!?"
:|a
If my IT'S A DREAM theory isn't real... which has been looking worse and worse... Vk had to have had a solid motive to make a time machine in the first place. The only reason I could think of was in the intention to go to the past and create the first nanites and create EVOs even FURTHER back than the Event, that way they could have a step ahead of their human brethren.
Thus, Vk must have had the knowledge/equipment ready at all times to do this. That would easily explain how he created the nanites. You have to keep in mind that when Holi and gang found Bk in the Hall of Records, she was looking at an ancient (yet holographic) nanite blueprint.
Now, you're wondering since it was done way back then, why isn't it in history books? Why don't the old folks remember EVOs? Wouldn't everything be all apocalyptic or at peace or something? To this, I say, PLEASE. DO YOU NOT CLAIM TO BE A NERD?? That is not how science fiction time travel works.
It's a subtle and slowly noticeable and then it's all blam and everyone's like WTF D8. That and Rex (and the audience) was pulled away from the series for six months. What if he's in some slightly alternate dimension thing? I honestly think that's way too out there even for me, but yeah.
That's what I think happened.
WHAT I WANT TO KNOW is why Bk is so damn interested in Vk. It may be the same time travel mumbo jumbo, but I doubt it. He is one of the original workers on the nanite and, like Rylander, valuable. The Committee's and Providence's pride seemed to wane when Rex left, so I don't doubt that they're willing to talk under the table with Vk.
And, I'm done. For now.

Well, yeah, no doubt.
But she seemed to be interested way before finding it. Like what she was looking for and had been looking for the whole time was where Waldo Kleiss went.
>_> Or that's how I took it, at least.

I don't know what we're doing now.

If you're talking about the Action Pack, I don't really read them too often.
If you're talking about the original.... Uh.... I completely forgot that there was even a bad guy...

Seriously, the bit with the Vk slab:
Caesar as Eustace, wanting to keep it for study, BK rethinking the theft, and the first curse being the magical "Blow up the Record Room" curse, xD

Oh, wow, I'm REALLY late.
I kinda freaked out when I saw Van Kleiss on that slab of stone. My first reaction was "KLEISS MUST BE SOOOO OLD!!!". But then I read you guys' theories and I thought, "...you so smart, you guys..."
