I don't put much stock in school GSAs. My high school had one, it was nothing but people pretending to be supportive because it made them look "cool". Most of them were the same people who made middle and high school a living hell for me.

I suppose I can understand the religious issue people would have with having same gender attractions. Though, the negative feelings should be directing toward the idea and not people. But just hating and tormenting someone with no reason other than- it makes you uncomfortable- doesn't make sense.

And what else that doesn't make sense to me? People quote the Bible as a reason to be against same-sex couples, which is fine if that's what they believe in. But when that same reason comes up in opposition to legalizing same-sex marriage? I sit there and wonder, "Whatever happened to the separation of Church and State?

The church has no right to make decisions for people, for any kind of sin. They can just state what that religion believes is right.

I don't put any stock in the Bible. People used to use it to rationalize black slavery. ANYTHING can be interpreted from it.

Seriously, LGBT's can do whatever good they want and people don't have to freak out at them. That's because said freak-outers DON'T know what to freak out about, other than the fact that they just saw two boys or two girls snogging or something. Besides, who needs to freak out? It's none of their business. Two people love each other and that's all.

There's a book called 'the Crowded Shadows' set in medieval-ish times by Celine Kiernan, and at one point in the story there's two men who are bi and actually got married by their standards. The protagonist of the story merely comments somthing along the lines of "They must really love each other if they got married". It's perfect! Acceptance! No blunt, disgusted rejections or badly disguised lies! I wish the entire world's like that one day.
