*shudders* I would have been able to handle it if he was just terrified or confused... But that laughing made me very nervous...
Kudos, MOA... You certainly captured insanity... *shivers*

Imagine being aware and unable to move for thousands of years. I mean maybe MAYBE if you had a photographic memory you could workout hard science in your head to try and keep sane (steven hawking works like this a lot) but vk is older then christanity now CAN he even BE sane?

Do you think he had to go to the bathroom at any point of his thousand-year sleep. Now THAT would drive me insane!

~Many days later~ This episode was fantastic. (Glad I wasn't the only one who though Bearded!Van Kleiss looked sort of like Jesus... XD) And eeekkk!, the return of Breach! Overall, I was left extremely pleased. I've been waiting for a VK centric episode, and by jove did MOA deliver!

The giggling was creepy. But I think Van Kleiss will be mostly stable by the time we see him again. He has already been dead and made it out okay. Also at the end of this episode after Black Knight asks if he remembers her you can see him start to pull himself together to reply properly. Insane VK was interesting but a sane one sounds like a much better villain.

Haha, the whole VK looking like Jesus thing didn't go unnoticed. I was watching the episode at my grandma's with a couple of my cousins and they were all like "whoa, it's Jesus." Grandma was not amused unfortunately.

Well, you might have to explain the biblical references that MOA seems to like slipping into the show. ^_^: I had to explain to my grandma as well. She has officially seen all of the episodes and can point out the references better than I can. ><

Sadly, grandma doesn't like cartoons, so the chances of me getting her to watch one with me just to explain biblical references are slim to none. Shame really, she'd probably like it once I got it all explained out to her.

What biblical references? Oh, I don't know, Noah, Rafael, Gabriel, Moses, Rebecca, God Nanites, 'Jesus Taboo' (String Theory), VK = god (in Romans' eyes), Jesus-looking Van Kleiss, Jesus-healing (Rex's cure)... TO NAME A FEW. And oh, Lions and Lambs. Yeah.

The naming thing could really be considered coincidental, and people have been trying to use technology to play god since the beginning of recorded history. Looking a little deeper into it presents actual themes that are biblical references, such as: - the lion lying down with the lamb as a symbol of peace: In Lions and Lambs, Van Kleiss refers to Breach as one of his lost sheep, and the episode itself centers on Rex (the proverbial lion) attempting to convince her to make peace with Providence and join them. - the curing of a plague by the laying on of hands: Rex cures people of the Nanites that turn them into EVOs by touching them, much like people in the bible are cured of illnesses plaguing them by the laying on of hands. Coincidentally, Rex is never shown as being able to cure people through any other method, only when he lays hands on them. - the Nanites: The Nanites are an effective analogy for sin. Humans created Nanites to rid the world of disease, and by this attempt to play god they shredded the natural order. Anyone else's mind screaming "original sin" right now? Related enough that I don't feel like making another point for it, but Providence itself is a big one. The organization represents a saving grace to the people of the world, but only as long as they put their trust in them and do what they're told (more so now than when White Knight was in charge). I could go on, but no one likes a smarty pants. ^_^

^ I like this conversation ^ =D
But then, if Rex is the portrayal of Jesus as a healer, would that mean he has to be sacrificed in the end in order to save the world =( But then he'd just come back and be all like "psych! its all good!"

My grandmother was talking about BK being a representation of the corruption in the Church.
That being said: Who's excited about the double episodes this friday?!

I suppose it depends on how you look at it, really. We've already seen that Rex's Nanites can restart his heart if it stops, but who's to say they aren't what's keeping him alive? If that's the case and they do find a permanent cure for EVOs, it's possible that it'll kill Rex in the process. If he wants to keep up with the Jesus role then no, he wouldn't stay dead, but who knows. There's also an alternative interpretation for the Jesus role, however: Van Kleiss. Maybe I should just write a thing on this. ^^;;
So excited for the double episode on Friday.

This religion comparison is kind of fascinating. Being raised an atheist I know little-to-nothing biblical, so my art history class is the only reason I recognize any of these names XD Besides the obvious ones anyway. That's neat!
Also excited for the double eps! Becaauusseee Six and Holiday are totally gonna be in the next one! WE'RE DUE FOR THEIR RETURN. I mean yeah Holiday's been in the last few but barely :\
