Although the finale had many faults, it did wrap up some issues that we've had from the outset, the biggest one being all of the E.V.Os. It was what Rex wanted from the beginning, and that's one of the reasons that Rex is so different from the Consortium and VK. He doesn't need power, only happiness.

I finally got a chance to watch it. My thoughts?
You know - not what I wanted, but not bad either. I can completely except that finale. Yeah, no overt Holix, but the energy was still there:-) No giant mecha!Rex that we all wanted, but you know what I noticed? The robot he turned into reflects the original concept drawing of Rex (with the Danny Phantomesque energy 'hair' :-))
Honestly, my gut is telling me this isn't over. Room to expand has purposely been left open - I didn't get the closure I was expecting from a series finale. This makes me think that MoA and the brain-trust are in fact "re-imagining" (as Duncan put it on Twitter) the GenRex concept in some form or another. They love to transform plots - that may very well be what's in the pipeline as we speak.
Also, I find it VERY curious that the episode w/ Rex and Beverly has not been shown in the U.S. ANYWHERE. THAT is suspicious to me as well - in a good way:-)
I'm optimistic :-)

Glad I'm not the only one that didn't hate it.

Wait up!
There was a major plot hole there! When Rex made all the nanites to go away, he said that "no one, not even me, must use them ever again".
Afterwards, back in Providence, Rex was a normal kid again.
But in the final sequence we see Rex back with his Smack Hands and stuff - so he's using the nanites again...? Plot hole!

I thought he was on about not using the master nanites again, but kept his omega nanite?

He was speaking directly to the Meta; he wanted it to deactivate so no one could try to use its power again, he didn't command all the Nanites to shut down. Otherwise White's comment about still having Nanites wouldn't have happened, because deactivated machines can't do anything to anyone.

Yep, the nanites are still in people, so seeing as VK is still about and if he makes his gauntlet again, he could still make EVOs by activating the nanites.
If the nanites were gone completely then White would not need his suit.

So, the nanites are still there, Van Kleiss is still there, Black Knight is still there.... hmmm I'd say that we can be definitely towards the continuation of the series - in some sort.

You know, after all that, I still don't get what VK was about. He says to WK that if he knew what VK was doing, he would welcome it and then when he's about to get the master nanite he says the world would have been a much better place if he had been allowed to have the master in the first place. Did VK explicitly say he wanted the master nanite to rule the world? Sure, his methods were extreme, but what would he have done if he had controled the master nanite? Maybe it was to keep himself alive because a world without nanites would be death for him. Also, a little question, but do we ever know BK's real name? I guess she wouldn't be so intimidating if she was called Jane or something.

Whoever was writing this episode: "Dur. We're gonna make a new series. I dun tink I wanna put effort into dis. *scribbles on paper* Dur. Someone else can put in some effort later."
Yeah. I know they're making a new series. Am I gonna watch it? Probably not. If they can't even put any effort into the FREAKING SERIES FINALE, they're not gonna pull through in a sequel.

Say, does anyone know if that *SPOILER* crazy dude rampaging in the end with that big mecha was Branden Moses in sunglasses?

It'd be cool if it was Moses. I'll have to check again and see if it was him.

I think it was good. They led up to this the whole series so it was obvious what was coming because they didn't want to throw any curveballs in the last episode because they don't know if they're getting another season, but it was what they had been planning the whole time.
