Has anybody seen a show called "The Prisoner?"
It was an old British TV series back in the 60s and they made a remake on AMC in 2009 (that was six episodes long if I recall).
I've only seen the first couple eps of the miniseries and never finished the rest, but I liked it enough to try another attempt to finish the show.
The reason I mention it of course is that there are some interesting similarities to GR.
The premise involves a man named Six (or 6, actually) who wakes up in a place called the Village that is like the only place that exists in the world or something along those lines, but there is a hot doctor lady who helps him, and a suited man dressed in all white (complete with white hair) who is seemingly in charge of a mysterious corporation... *strokes imaginary beard*
Anyways, I was just wondering. I'm only on the second ep, so we'll see if the connections run deeper, I suppose.

Ive seen the mini series and a few eps of the old one.
Its very big in certain circles most of them pretty nerdy. The heart of the prisoner is an existential story about what i means to be free, and the other end people just watch it " 'cuz its trippy! " I don't think GR is based on it but I'd bet a few bucks the people making it have seen the show and liked it.

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on this, naibea! I checked it out and the plot really grabbed me. I guess the series will be aired again on March 23rd, so I plan on watching it:-)
