First Official Yume Nikki Thread!

Hello, everyone. Since I am not good at lengthy introductions, I will just get to the point here: this is the place to talk about anything Yume Nikki.

For those of you who don't know what it is, I shall explain it to you: Yume Nikki is a downloadable game made with the computer software "RPG Maker" by a Japanese guy/girl/person/whatever it is named Kikiyama. It has no dialouge, ambiguous and somewhat symbolic scenery, and a vague plot that nobody can actually decipher, the only specific goal being "get 24 effects". Although I have never actually played it, I have read enough wikis and watched enough walkthroughs to get a few developed theories.

So, anyone who's played it, watched walkthroughs, and heard of it can talk about the game or share theories about it. Have fun over-analyzing the games!

First off: theories. What theories do you have about the plot or the characters?

Also, does the series remind you of Generator Rex? Do you think that the show might be based off of the game somewhat?
