I get what Tessa is talking about regarding Six looking 'old' minus the shades. I have to admit, my initial reaction was the same. But as I've rewatched the ep., he just looks more worn initially. Then he looks pretty normal in the following shadeless shots.

Honestly, after re-watching it *coughtentimescough* I think something is different about his lower jaw as well. It looks like they made it a little less pointy and more round. He has a very angular and edgy face normally but in two of the shadeless shots - the old/worn one and the one we are using as avi images mainly, his jaw line seems to be wider. I'm either over anyalizing, looking to much in to this or it's the medicine talking.
Ignore the above rant if it doesn't make any sense. But agreed. He looks very worn. This man was obviously like a father (cliched I know, shuttap) to him. He meant a lot to him for him to have gone out of his way to steal a jump jet, and Rex, without Providence's knowing to go do something of a personal nature. *WHEN* have we ever seen Six do something this personal and reveal so much about his past? >glomps MOA for this episode<
Also, I seem to think that Dr. Holiday has seen him without his glasses. I don't know why though. Hm.

Thanks MacGaulyver, you got what i meant. By old, i kind of meant...world weary, worn. Smith (sorry, don't know what name you want to go by), I wouldn't actually go so far as to guess him to be 45. At the most I'd peg him to be 40.

I think he's in his thirties...maybe mid or early thirties... But he's seen so much in his life and gone through so much, he looks more worn. That's my guess.

When he spoke of One as though One was almost like a parent to him, had to wonder, was Six an orphan perhaps? Maybe even a reason back in Promises, Promises that Six softened towards Rex as soon as Rex admitted he couldn't remember any family?

Ok, I'm agreeing with everything in this thread again. I think Holi seen him without his shades (but I have no idea why I think that). I think he's around his early thirties, but looks worn because of... life. I think he was an orphan. I think MoA is awesome. Etc. Etc.

MoA clearly wanted to show the contrast between the edgy, ninja man we all know and the tired, sad, worn out man that was shown when he took off the shades, without shoving the differences in our faces. He wanted to subtly show us the human behind the mask (or shades). I think he did a great job too! It's nice to know that good animation isn't dead.

Great observation:-)

My first thought - or wait, second thought, after "WHAT IS THIS oh hey, he's not an E.V.O. under those shades!" - was, " Wow, is Holiday going to be jealous if she finds out Rex saw Six's eyes and she hasn't." For everyone's sake, I hope she has. It wasn't the glasses coming off that made this episode a big deal for me, though. It was how much Six expressed himself. He's such a subtle character normally; it was great to see him yell, get protective, and look sad.

I LOVED how emotional he got, especially how "in-your-effing-face-NO" he was when everybody around him -- with the exception of Rex -- decided to kill One. It was so sad, but so perfect when he defended Rex (the "This BOY..." line) to Dos, that made of wonderful perfection. Of course, that's probably just my fangirlness talking, but OH WELL, IT'S STILL WIN. ;D
I also enjoyed how worn and human he actually showed himself to be when he took off the shades. I thought that was a very good...thing (not the word I want) that MoA did for him.

It just shocked me that he actually took them OFF o.o. That and he was so sad and worried and desperate. I think Holi may have seen him. I mean, she is a doctor. She's apparently seen Rex naked (incredibly, against his will). I'm pretty sure she has. One of the reasons why I think that is because Rex wasn't freaking out like I was, when he saw him. Makes me believe that Rex has seen Six without his shades before (especially since Rex seems to wake him up during naps lol).

EDIT: I was responding to "I also enjoyed how worn and human he actually showed himself to be when he took off the shades. I thought that was a very good...thing (not the word I want) that MoA did for him." This forum moves fast, huh?
It was definitely a good thing. I was afraid he'd have insect eyes or a cyborg lens or something, and it would be gimmicky, and I'd get annoyed. A bunch of people were annoyed his eyes aren't green, but I think brown eyes suit him better.
In my opinion, best Six line this episode was, "That's your problem, Dos - no mercy." Not an exact quote, probably. But it said so much about Six. He's a good person with his heart in the right place, and I'm so glad Rex has someone like that looking out for him.

Oh Tej, me and you are gonna get along great. Once again, I agree.
It's easier to go to the 'most recent posts' page and refresh it every now and then, to keep up with everything. When it gets busy around her (like when Six took off his shades and we all started fangirling) it gets pretty hectic.
I'm surprised we haven't crashed the site, yet.

Thanks for the tips, Trinch!
lol. I'm surprised the entire world didn't hear a high-pitched screech when Six removed the glasses. I was sitting on the couch with my two best friends, all guys, and we still nearly shattered the glassware in the kitchen.
