(xD general fansqueal thread)
IS FREAKING AWESOME BECAUSE
Of the CHARACTERS, the PLOTLINE, the BACKGROUND of the CHARACTERS. Even the fillers are awesome, imo. The show goes at a great pace, not too many fillers, but it isn't always action. I kind of finds many shows have difficulty in balancing that.
Also, the subtext of the show is pretty spectacular. While the show is often lighthearted, there's this awful apocalyptic scenario hanging over their heads. Without an actual widespread cure, the destructive power of the nanites can and will ravage the Earth, possibly destroying any and all ways of supporting life on the planet.
Not to mention, anyone can go EVO at any time, and they have to live with possibly destroying everything they know for no reason at all.
I also love this black and grey morality going on here, where the head guy of "the good guys" is a manipulative jerk, although for understandable reasons. And the head of "the bad guys" could be described as an extreme activist, trying to make life better for his people in a terribly twisted and ruthless way.
It's just... ALL THESE ELEMENTS! They work together SO WELL. There's this diverse set of characters with amazing compliments and foils, side stories that make us care about them, and all this fun and hilarity along the way.
It's just such a great show, I honestly did not believe I was going to fall this hard for it. XDD

Someone just had a fangirl moment.
And, yes, I agree with everything in this thread.

That fangirl moment had been lasting since I saw the first episode. It just got BAMF'D up a notch since YESTERDAY. 8DD

Honestly, when I first saw the commercial for this show, I thought it was going to be kind of stupid. I didn't watch the first two episodes, and the only reason for me watching the third was because of the show's page on CN. I remembered that Circe was supposed to be in it and how she had the second mouth thing. So I watched, and afterwards I was like"OMG! I LOVE IT!" And thus the powerpuff girls were born... wait,I mean that's when I started liking G. Rex.

I've been watching from the first ep. I used to be into Ben 10, but it started getting sucky and I heard MoA was working on something else. So, I figured I'd watch it and see if Ben 10 was getting sucky just because or if it was lacking cause of this new series. So, I watched it, fell in love, and never looked back.

OMG! It was the same with me! I saw the commercial and thought that it looked pretty dumb. The only reason I watched the first episode was because it was right after the first episode of UA and my friend really wanted to see it. Probably what sold me the series in the first episode was...*glances back and forth* Van Kleiss... *hides* I mean, he was SUCH a Pedo, SUCH a creeper, and yet SUCH a suave, calm, powerful villain at the same time! Any show with a villain so awesome has GOT to be good. Plus, I loved all of the other characters. Rex was funny, flawed, and awesome. Bobo was hilarious, but not over the top. Six was...Six! Holiday was kind, but had just enough attitude to show me that she wasn't a pushover. Plus, the design of the Pack was really creative! So, I kept watching. And I was finally COMPLETELY sold the series by, wait for it, CIRCE! Yep, Circe was what finally convinced me that this was gonna be a good series. I've been obsessed ever since!

The reaching out for his hand thing in the first ep got me hooked. Circe in Beyond The Sea made me fall in love. The entire Leader Of The Pack got me obsessed.
My love just grew from then on out.

I'm still watching Ben 10 because, why not, they're on one after the other and Kevin is always good for a laugh. But Generator Rex is just... I would, and have, driven 2 hours on a Friday after school and work to catch this show. I don't have TV at my house, so I have to watch it wherever my friends happen to be. The thing that always gets me is how FREAKING SCARY this show is. There's no good reason for it, but somehow I never trust it not to kill someone off or otherwise irrevocably ruin a character's life. D: Why? Why are even the flashbacks scary, when I know everyone will get out alive? They'll probably never kill off, say, Noah, but it's still so nerve-wracking.

I didn't start watching the show until Breach. |D;; Imagine how frustrated I was when the hiatus came around after Dark Passage. :[
When I saw the preview, I thought it was interesting. I didn't get to see the first 7 episodes because my brothers and I were always watching something else. I saw a bit of The Architect but we changed channel... I saw the second half of Leader of the Pack and since then I've been following it, while reading up on the episodes I missed.
Now I'm so obsessed it's pretty much all I ever talk about on my LiveJournal. |D;;
