So I thought I'd go on a little 'over thinking it' rant.
I mentioned in a "Waste Land" feedback post how unsettled I was by the fish guy's comment, "Six is a machine's name." Learning that Six is actually an android or something has been rolling around in my head for several reasons, but I've persistently rejected it. Now *ugh* I'm wondering even more.
I'm pretty convinced at this point that the whole Six not ever taking his glasses off thing has very little to do with some "I'm trying to hide my thoughts/emotions" thing. I'm really starting to feel like he's hiding his eyes for an appearance related reason - like he's got mechanical eyes or something really weird.
So, after giving this more thought than I have any business to, here's what I'm predicting about Six's history for the record:
Six had to have been part of an experimental 'super soldier' program using nanites to enhance a group of selected humans. Much like the MIB or Wolverine (only less sinister) scenarios , the identities of these individuals were erased, or more likely just deeply suppressed since White discovered Six's birthdate somehow, and were then replaced with a number.
Where things went from there could go in several different directions, so I won't even speculate about that. But as a result, I'm wondering if Six's condition is in some way actually quite similar to Rex's in that, Six's nanites (having received them before the event as a participant in this experiment) mechanized aspects of his physiology, his eyes perhaps being the only visible result of this process/procedure/what-have-you. This would essentially make Six a PreVO (a Pre-EVO).
I'm guessing that whatever Rex was involved with regarding his nanites was an extension of this same program. Though perhaps Rex (due to his unique physiology, or something like that) was the actual success. Remember, the name "Rex" was given by Rylander who was clearly closely involved in whatever the experimental program was that Rex was a part of.
As an aside, we know Rex has a brother, and while some part of me still is slightly suspicious that it could be Van Kleiss, I'm more so wondering if it's going to turn out that Rex's brother was one of "the numbers" along with Six.
So...could Six be a PreVO (please, not an android, PLEASE!)? What says anyone else who cares to over think this stuff?:-)

Wow...I was thinking, right around episode three or so, that Six was a genetically altered soldier called a PreVO, and, although it has enhanced his speed and fighting abilities, it has stunted his emotions (he DOES have the capacity for emotions, as evidenced by "Promises, Promises", and, at times, smiling at Captain Callan). I HOPE he's not a robot! >.< He could be a Nobody, though! (KH jokes!) I like to overthink this stuff.

Great minds think alike:-) The more I think about it, I'm realizing Six can't be an android or a robot because he was incapacitated during "Plague." That means he's got to be fully human - but this PreVO thing really has a conceptual grip on me now, I have to admit. It seems to offer the most plausible explanation of Six, in general:-)

Mac- you are a genius. The whole fish dudes comment bothered me too. ...and the lack of response from Six (while not unusual I expected SOMETHING considering that they were at each other's throats the entire episode almost) bothered me as well. Have we ever once seen Six injured? Other than just being knocked out?
Honestly I think the fish guy's comment was either foreshadowing at its best or a serious attempt to mind screw us.

Honestly I think the fish guy's comment was either foreshadowing at its best or a serious attempt to mind screw us. Good observation - Six's silence ALWAYS speaks the loudest:-) It's pretty clear Six has no problem speaking his mind. Its more serious when he doesn't say anything at all in a conflictual situation - his silence here seemed to be one of those moments, in my opinion - that's why I got chills:-) (I'll laugh hysterically at myself if it turns out that I'm letting MoA screw with my mind so much:-)) I took fish guy's comment as foreshadowing, unfortunately - though, again, I'm hoping "machine" is relative and not literal. Also, aside from Six getting knocked out, you're right - no blood - ever! I'm convinced he has some enhanced regenerative ability. I think the worst he's looked was scuffed up just before he landed that sweet 'drop out of the sky' kick to Meechum.

I'm surprised you guys are all in a tizzle about this whole robot thing. I honestly think Sergio was just making a point about the whole humanity/nature thing, but that could just be me in denial because I DO NOT WANT that to be true.
But, OMG Mac, I LOVE your PreVO theory. Sooo good. And the possibility of Rex's bro being one of the numbers? Too good.

Personally, the whole "robot!Six" thing seems way too obvious. I think the line was a MoA mind screw attempt.
Personally, I think Six was probably kind of mad but chose to seethe rather than snap at Surge (Serg?). The fact that he introduced himself to Holiday as "Six" implies to me that he's proud of his name to a certain extent. Or I'm reading too much into things which I've been known to do.
The PreEVO idea for Six is interesting though! It'd explain a lot about his abilities if nothing else.
I always suspected there was something about his eyes that he wants to hide. Particularly after this episode since, really, Six? Sunglasses when you're already wearing goggles? Something's really bugging you about your eyes if you go to those extremes.
