I'm too lazy to read through the whole thread, so bear with me if these have already been voiced out by other people. XD ~~ So, this is the product of random musings about VK and Caesar's characters, as well as being something like a fan of Van/Caesar. So this is half fangirling, half serious. XD So, you know how Van Kleiss always talks about his intellect? I haven't gotten a hold of Action Pack 54, but my impression from the description is, the only girl VK would have eyes for would be someone who matches his intellect. Well, what if Caesar is in that group? He might even surpass VK. And we have an idea about Caesar - he seems to care more about brains. In not in a fangirly way, I think that VK and Caesar might have respected each other, and VK probably respected the other Salazars as well (except Rex, 'cause he was just a brat back then XD), but I think there would be more respect towards Caesar for one reason or other. I'm not sure about being "friends." I don't remember, but Caesar referred to VK as a "lab hack." I'm not sure what that means. Did that mean VK was a lab assistant, and not on a high position in the nanite project like Caesar? I like to think that maybe there was some jealousy going on, like VK's brain is not being appreciated, and was overshadowed by Caesar's double-status as the son of the Salazars and a genius. And if there was some kind of mutual respect between the two, I wondered if they might have agreed on something in regards to what to do about the nanites. It's very unclear, and I'll get to that in a later post somewhere, either here or in another thread (?). So whatever respect, or friendliness they might have had for each other, it all disappeared when Rex got his injury (which is still a mystery - some think something fell on him, others think it might have been a gunshot. I'm banking on the latter more, because from the sounds of it, Rex got caught in the middle when VK's faction tried to do something and the other scientists tried to stop him). And therefore, this sense of loathe for each other that we're getting. ???

I think science gets to all the people who work with it eventually. every one i know who works with science is a complete and utter looney, intelligent as they come for sure but still looney, I figure it has something to do with all those chemicals they work with.

I'm really sorry, but I'm too lazy to read all 13 pages of this thread, so I'm sorry if I repeat what anyone else has already said.
Here are my basic thoughts on César (spelling it the way I think it's suppose to be spelled. Hope that's okay.):
-He suffers from ADD or ADHD with science (and Rex to an extent) being the only thing that is capable of keeping his attention. -He lets his own interests blind him, which can result in causing trouble (and sometimes pain) for those around him, even the people he cares about. -He's the doting older brother type with Rex. (This is mainly supported by my assumption that the gigantic ping-pong paddle was César's doing). -He's not evil, just morally askew since he does show a form of conscience, at least where Rex is concerned.
I actually really like César because of his quirkiness and the relationship he holds with Rex, which reminds me a lot of how I am with my younger brothers (one is three years my junior and enlisted in the army while the other is nearly ten years my junior and is at the awkward teenage phrase in his life).
I'm hoping he doesn't turn out to be a villain, partly because I don't want him to be and partly because "evil older sibling" is a cliche that's been used too often for my liking. If César does end up on the "evil" side, I'm thinking it will only be because the side he chooses is the one that would allow him more freedom in his endeavors in science. César's inventions aren't explicitly harmful, but do have the potential of being so, as is any technological advancement known to man. Would the "evil" side used César's inventions to their own dastardly advantage, no doubt, just as the "good" would in turn.
It's because of this that I think Van Kleiss' warning was mainly garnered to the harmful potential César has as well as the older Salazar's disregard of anything and everything when consumed by his own need of scientific advancement. What comes to mind the most when I think of this is "Night Falls" where César electrocutes Rex to fine-tune his curing powers to help Frederico and his family. César isn't all too concerned about shocking his younger brother in order to get the results he wants. What redeems him, at least in my mind, is that he takes into consideration Rex's discomfort and adjusts the shock rod accordingly. Then there's "Six Minus Six." Though César works fervently to save Rex, he is at first fascinated at the readings regarding Rex's reboot. We can't forget how César had no qualms about -Six (I'm going to call him that from now on) getting into the machine and suffering immensely either.
And despite the heartlessness that seems to portray, César's disregard is also extended to himself. Remember when he blindingly approached the E.V.O.s in Abysus? Yeah ... 'Nuff said.
For César, his work time is his play time and anything outside of that (besides Rex) is not worth his time and effort. This in and of itself is potentially dangerous as it allows for a large number of people to manipulate him and for him to manipulate them in turn. It just make him a big giant wildcard in the grand scheme of things. Does that make sense?
