What could it expand to if they weren't bounded by their demographic or the censors?
I'm almost saying "What if Generator Rex was a grown up cartoon," but not really, because if it was, there would probably be so many more adult concepts throughout the show that could really change the entire tone of the series, and it wouldn't be the same ol' GenRex we love so dern much.
I'm kind of asking that if tomorrow, Generator Rex was taken off Cartoon Network to be put on another network, OR if CN just got really REALLY LAX(A LOT MORE THAN NOW) about what they show, what kind of more mature concepts do you think the show could incorporate?
For me... It kind of bothers me that while there are all these VICIOUS MONSTERS lurking around the world, and there actually has been DEATH in this show, too... BUT. We never see blood. I kind of think that while there is so much violence here, there is a distinct lack of blood, which seems to lessen the gravity of the EVO war. It's easy to kind of have the characters disappear and then just say they're dead, but showing actual blood, even if just for injuries, could make the show seem a little more real and the stakes a little more serious.
I dunno, I think one of my favorite things about this show is how wonderfully dark it is when you think about it. Under all that humor, there is a very serious issue at stake, and I'd love to see it fully explored. But, I don't think there could be a good of a portrayal as there could be of it unless some limitations are lifted.
