Actually, I thought the sudden shyness was adorable and I think I have a reason for it. (Or at least this is how I justify it in my head.)

Six blatantly hit on her at the beginning of his memory loss. Pretty easy to infer from there that he was a bit of a lady's man. This could be because he's never been serious about the relationship. It could even be a tool he used to get information or sway women to his side. (Remember how Five called it "the old sly dog routine" when he tried to pull it on her?)

However, as he gets to know Holiday, he realizes that, hey, he doesn't want a temporary thing with her. If we assume he's never had a serious relationship before or the one serious relationship he had ended badly (which is what Five implied when she told him not to screw it up "this time"), that is a scary unknown for him. The guy doesn't seem deeply in-touch with his emotions. Ergo, he's going to be cautious and perhaps a bit shy at times.

Omg, it's so AU. I actually have two, though.

One, the main one, is pre-series (pre-nanite/providence/rex/etc). Includes, Six as an undercover cop, trying to bust a street racing ring and Holiday caught in the middle of a seriously abusive relationship... It is SO GOOD in my head. I have one part all layed out and it is just EPIC. (That part includes angsty-torture... Gawd, what a plot bunny...)
