I think it was a defense mechanism thats meant to kill off any rogue nanites witch Rex can just make more of because he's a nanites " Generator " invoking the title. But thats just me
and yes I think that caused his memory wipe.

Skimming the old M.Rex comic again for other reasons I came on a quote from White Knight about Rex
"Providence has determined he shouldn't exist. He is a an abhorrence and abomination a walking god damn calamity on a biblical scale."
Now This was the comic and a million things changed between then and now, but could Rex have been the event? Did they try to get him to make more nanites before he was oldenough to understand how?

I don't think Rex directly caused the Event, but it's a good question...he had something to do with it maybe.
Perhaps 'Badlands' will give us some insight, I still haven't found an episode summary for it.

I haven't posted on Rex yet. I'm horrbile. I think agree with most of the things said. His character is developed nicely. He's got that teenage syndrom but he still manages to do his job. Most of the time anyway. I like how they are showing his humanity and his youth. He looks for approval in the things that he does, he doesn't want to be 'cooped' up and he has the desire and the determination to save most - if not all- the human EVOs.
Rex's interaction with the other characters also makes him more realistic. His punching out his friend when he found out he was a spy, freakign out when he found out the cactus EVO was a priest- even his occasional embarassment- all of those I think are details that make his character all that more realistic- and loveable.

Yup. He's still a kid no matter how gifted he is, but obviously there is a tremendous burden on him from Providence and that crap that comes with it.
Also, just tossing out random spec.... do you think it's possible Rex could gain the ability to control/manipulate his nanitezilla/ superform into a conscious ability? Sort of like, (and excuse the analogy) Naruto and Kyubii. That Nanite that Rylander gave him could help, because he didn't have it 5 years ago.

I think Rex getting control of that giant Rexzilla could defiantly happen.

Yeah, but not before it goes gonzo on him again, and it sort of makes him controle it before Six has to kill him.

Well- I think there is a possibility there, but I don't think he would go nanitezilla once and be able to control it- I think it will take a lot of practice and discipline.
*oh dear god I'm going to show my age again* For example in DBZ- when go han first goes ape- he is monstrous. Because it is something he's never experienced before. But when one of the other sayians go ape they are still in proper conciousness-
Yes yes yes I know that Rex has gone Nanitezilla before- but he doesn't remember. He can't learn from an experience that he doesn't remember.
I'll go sit in my rocking chair and talk about the good old days now.

I'm right up there with you, fellow dinosaur I love DBZ. But back on track...Gohan and the other Saiyans were able to have other transformations aside from apesh*t form (Which I think is awesome when they go bananas...no pun intended). Could Rex eventually have a "super-saiyan" form? Except nanites of course.

I think he tells his nanties to build stuff. Thats his power, and I dont see his track record of " big clunky machines " ending anytime soon.

Could Rex eventually have a "super-saiyan" form? Except nanites of course. XD Could you imagine? LOL Gawd, that's too hilarious! Lina has an interesting view of what happened. make her tell you. (im too lazy to type it all up right now.) Um, I think I know what you're talking about. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. I think Rex caused the event. Rylander never told us when Rex started having his amnesia spells. He did say that Rex had an accident and he needed the nanites to live, which the trauma of that could of caused the amnesia to start. But I think something may have went rather 'batty' and Rex purposely caused the nanite event. Being 10, I'm sure he didn't know what it would cause, but I'm sure his goal was to hurt/kill a lot of people. Is that the theory you were talking about?
