This is probably part 1 of an extremely long rant about all my elementary school teachers. I'll add the last part at the end of the school year...
This rant is all about my extreme teachers. But just because I say extreme, doesn't necessarily mean their all strict. They just have different parts of their personality that are greatly emphasized for as far as I know them. I can only list down the teachers I actually remember and those who have great extreme personalities. So now without further ado, my rant on extreme teachers!
Grade 1
Ms. Aca, Music teacher
Ms. Aca is the extremely tall teacher. The last time I saw her was the last day of Grade 1. Now I know you guys are gonna think, "She's supposed to look tall to you, you were so small back then!". But you haven't seen her like my classmates and I have. She always has to bow down just to pass through the door. Her head is only 2 inches away from the ceiling. If she squats down, she can still meet us face-to-face. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating. But other concepts of her personality are that she's a fun and pretty teacher, and she's a great singer!
Ms. Senga, Filipino teacher
Ms. Senga is the extremely pretty teacher. Apparently, on the first day of school, she joined our bus to get to school. And I was sitting right next to her. What was ironic was I didn't realize it until she told me in the middle of the school year. She's actually very beautiful, and in my school, if a teacher is pretty, she becomes an automatic favorite because we always connect prettiness with their kindness (but of course, that was back then).
Ms. Arto, Christian Living teacher
Ms. Arto is the extremely short teacher. In Grade 1, I was only 4 feet, 3 inches, and I was taller than her! She's actually very nice and my classmates and I grabbed a hint that I was her favorite student. Which is why she was very disappointed when my grades dropped in CL.
Grade 2
Ms. Cestona, Sibika/Social Studies teacher
Ms. Cestona is the extreme perfectionist. She almost never jokes around during class. She is also the reason I fear all my Sibika teachers. And somehow, my classmates and I grabbed another hint that I was her favorite because I didn't used to talk too much and I actually paid attention in class. I was also the one who took it the most serious. Every time, it's as if we never see or hear her slip up, and she forces us to do the same. She's like one of those teachers or headmistresses you find in movies and books about British boarding schools.
Grade 3
Sir Patrick, Reading teacher
Sir Patrick is the extremely awkward teacher. He makes dry jokes, whenever he tries to make his point no ever gets it until he explains it at least three times and no one takes him seriously. Being our first male teacher ever, he was uncomfortable to be with. And since this was his first job as a teacher (nevertheless an all-girls class), he was still trying to adjust to the environment.
Mrs. Villarosa, Language teacher
Mrs. Villarosa is the extremely funny teacher. She likes to make fun of us, but we're in good terms with one another. She does that with all her classes. She was my favorite teacher in Grade 3. If you ever meet her, you guys will see my point here.
Mrs. Coronado, Math teacher
Mrs. Coronado is the extremely repetitive teacher. She keeps repeating things over and over no matter how many times we tell her. What's worst was she's been my teachers for 3 years straight (since Grade 1), I never really learned too much from her classes. But I was kinda sad when she retired last year. I'm actually gonna miss her voice, which always sounds like she's choking on something.
Grade 4
Ms. Labao, Science teacher
Ms. Labao is the extremely serious teacher. My first impression of her was that she doesn't smile all that much. First impressions last, so up until now, I still think she's still the same serious self that she always was. But then I found out from my busmates that she recently became fun. Which was good so future generations won't really have to suffer the way we did. Grade 5 was about the time she started to become a fun teacher.
Ms. Reyes, Music teacher
Ms. Reyes is the extremely fun teacher. She never let's us sit in one place during class and she never makes it a boring experience for us. She's the reason why Music became slightly more awesome to my batch's point of view. Up until now, she still recognizes me without even looking at my ID or name tag. Now that's kinda cool. Most teachers usually forget by that time...
Grade 5
Ms. Ching, English teacher
Ms. Ching is the extremely hyper and random teacher. She's like none other. She's childish but funny and awesome and very pretty. She's like a huge package of the greatest teacher in the world. She's my favorite teacher for this reason. There's never a dull moment in her class. What makes her so interesting is her personality. Her true personality, however, remains a mystery because all she shows us is her innocent side. Back to her hyperactivity and randomness. She can tell you a random story at any time possible. She always goes off topic whenever she teaches us, which makes her really fun. But I pay so much attention to her, I got one of the highest grades in English in our class. Because she's my adviser, I see her all the time and she helps us with special events for school like Linggo ng Wika and the English Fest. She's a great choreographer, which is why we win most of our interpretive events. She has the cutest and loudest laugh I've ever heard. She laughs so hard sometimes that she has to go out the room, laugh it all out and she has to relax. She goes back in the room, still smiling, and continues with where she stopped in the lesson. And to boot, she has a meldious voice that will melt anyone's hearts. She's just that good at singing. She;s even part of an international choir here in the Philippines called "Bukas Palad". I've already told some of you guys about her many times already. And maybe I'll talk about her more next time. Yeah, she's just that great a teacher!
Sir Aranas, Substitute Science/Filipino/English teacher
Sir Aranas is the extremely productive teacher. He subs for any subject as long as he knows the lessons and what's supposed to be covered. He's actually also very fun. He makes us laugh. He's a little like Ms. Ching's male counterpart but to a lesser extent.
Grade 6
Mrs. Saliendra, Filipino teacher
Mrs. Saliendra is the extremely talkative teacher. She tells numerous stories to us, especially during lessons. While those stories others find amusing, I find them useless and boring, which is why I failed her class. She also likes pairing up many of us to her son who is the same age as us back then. Luckily, I wasn't one of those people.
Ms. Ausena, Science teacher
Ms. Ausena is the extremely smart teacher. Being a science teacher, she knows her facts about the subject. I don't even know how she can memorize all those formulas without looking at the book itself once. But the one thing we really liked about her, was that she was really pretty. She was actually our youngest teacher at just age 22. She started a year before our batch, which made her 20 when she started. But then again, there's a male teacher in the high school department who started at 19, so she's not the youngest teacher in history...not that we know who actually is the youngest teacher in our school's history.
Ms. Fuerte, English teacher
Ms. Fuerte is the extremely happy teacher. She rarely gets mad at us and you'll always see her smile when she teaches. I always thought she smiles a lot because she wants to show off her perfect teeth, but she just said she doesn't wanna look old. How can she look old? She's 26! I've known teachers who are 30+ and always fool us with their appearances, making us think they're 20+ or something. Actually, all my teachers look either really old or really young for their age...
Ms. Penaranda, Math teacher
Ms. Penaranda is the extremely awesome teacher. She's funny and always makes fun of us, but we're still in good terms. She never admits that she appreciates us until the last day. She even mentioned that we were her most favorite class ever. She was the teacher our class missed the most. But when you think about it, she's a cross between a terror teacher and a cool teacher. That is, if you actually meet her and get to know her.
Grade 7
Ms. Napay, Science teacher
Ms. Napay is the extremely...okay, I have no idea what to say, so I'll say it like this. She's the kind of teacher who thinks about her students this way, "I'm gonna give them long, useless and never ending homework and put it on a deadline so short, it's as if they have to pass a ten-page essay about the theory of evolution in just one hour!". I don't like it when she rubs it in our faces that we're the smartest in our batch and that we are expected of more. It's as if they don't know we're new to the academic high school environment, which sucks! Yeah, we're considered high school in academics, but grade school in Homeroom...thus making us Junior High. Anyways, even my classmates agree that she should've just left for Pasig Science High School. We honestly thought she would be better off there. Good, if that happens!
EDIT: Okay, we're already cool with Ms. Napay because we've settled our differences and have come on good terms. Though it's kinda annoying how she often goes off topic to talk about the MSEP Program (Mathematics and Science Excellence Program), our hate level is now on "just a little annoying".
Ms. Cruz, Christian Living teacher
I would say Ms. Cruz is the extremely feared teacher. She's nice and funny, but when she orders you to do something, there's like a receiver in your brain from her voice that says, "Obey or die!". She's not as strict as we thought she would be...but she is the most feared teacher in Grade 7 (second to Mrs. Santos). Just a call from her to the faculty room will give you jitterbugs...
Ms. Falguera, Hekasi/Social Studies teacher
Ms. Falguera is the extremely boring teacher. When you try to listen to her in class, her voice is so dull, you won't be able to keep your eyelids from falling down. She's so boring, all my classmates agree with me. She's so boring...I can't describe her any further, that's how boring she is...but now, not really. And apparently, she's the gossip girl of the school. Always ahead on the latest chismis!
Bb. Cristobal, Filipino teacher
I'm gonna go straight to the point here. I don't like her. No one in my class likes her. No one in my WHOLE BATCH actually likes her. We hate her more than we hated Ms. Napay before. Why? First day of her officially teaching us. Quiz. No review. Makes us read 80 verses of Ibong Adarna in 5 minutes. Half of class nearly fails (or does fail). Yeah, that bad. Second time meeting her. Write stuff on Manila Paper. Submit next week. Right on that day, she tells us it's worth 100!! Third time. It was alright, so as to say. Fourth. Tells us to bring a rock to school and write something extremely long on it to pass to her. That's just mad...
I supposed that's all I have for now. I'll probably add a few more if I want to, so expect updates on this. Since this is gonna wrap up for now, I bid you a temporary farewell. The last time I'm gonna update this is probably next year...that's a long time, huh? (dang, Ms. Ching has influenced me on the "getting off topic" thing of hers...)
