Hey guys! Let's talk anime. *glances at board* Wow. I've started a lot of posts here. ^_^ I'm just gonna list some animes along with links to the first episode if ya'll wanna check any of them out!
-Favorite Anime: Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. It's an old-school anime about a tiger-striped dog named Gin who was born to a great bear hunter named Riki. After witnessing his father's death at the hands of the red bear, Akakabuto, Gin is trained by his father's master to help him kill the demon bear and restore peace to the mountains. Later on, he meets a pack of dogs that also intends to destroy Akakabuto. This anime has a great storyline, characters with various pasts and personalities, animation that ranges from beautiful to scary, and an all out awesome experience. If you're a dog lover, check it out. If you aren't, check it anyway. You'll BECOME a dog lover! www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzXVgvR5YxU
-Runner up: Wolf's Rain. This anime takes place in a gritty, industrialized world where wolves are almost extinct. (Hey. Where are you going? Chill! This IS NOT a preachy environmental show!) These wolves have the ability to disguise themselves as humans. (No, not werewolves) The main character, a white wolf named Kiba, is following the scent of a mysterious plant called the Lunar Flower with the hopes that it will lead him to a place called Paradise. He is joined by three other wolves in his journey to a promised land that only the wolves can find. Like Gin, it has a gripping storyline and amazing characters. The world and animation is much more gritty, but it adds to the experience. It's an anime I'd recommend to anyone. Plus, the theme song is EPIC! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcZJpduNRS0
-Favorite Romantic Anime: Sukisyo. *struggles to hold in fangirl squeals* This is the BEST Yaoi anime ever made and my FAVORITE romantic anime I've ever seen in my life! The main character is a boy named Sora who has lost his memory and is going to a new school. His roommate, Sunao, was a close friend of his before he lost his memory, but seems to hate his guts. There's a problem though (not really a problem...heheh...): Both boys have split personalities and their second selves are in love with each other! What I love about this anime is that it doesn't have JUST romance. It has PLOT as well. It keeps the storyline going with tantalizing hints and moments until...well...I won't spoil it. www.animeseason.com/sukisho/
-Runner up: Library Wars/Toshokan Sensō. I discovered this one quite recently, and I'm glad I did. It takes place in Japan after an act was passed by the government putting restrictions on books. At the same time, local governments passed a law to defend themselves stating that libraries are independent estates. As a result, armed forces became required to defend libraries, buy from book stores, and keep the government from stifling the freedom of the people. The main character, Iku Kasahara, becomes the first woman on the Task Force, inspired by a mysterious hero that saved her favorite book from being confiscated when she was in high school. Now, she puts up with her harsh lieutenant, Dojo, and tries to prove herself worthy of protecting the library. There is less romance than plot, but that's how I like it. There are just enough tantalizing hints to keep you going...kinda like Holix! www.animeseason.com/toshokan-sensou/
-First Anime: Pokemon. GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! I was crazy about Pokemon when I was a kid! I spent probably hundreds of dollars on cards over the years and made sure to watch the anime whenever it was on Kids WB. I was HORRIFIED when it was taken off. (No cable.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9IXLG7-O7E
-Second Anime: Yugioh. Yes, it was the 4kids version. I started watching around the same time my Pokemon buddy stopped trading Pokemon cards with me and started challenging me to duels. Not one to be left behind, I switched my focus from Pokemon to Yugioh. I never beat him... *sigh* www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJINHBbvmcY
-Anime I was most obsessed with: Naruto. My love for GR pales in comparison to my love for Naruto back in Middle School. It was shameful. I was crazy about it. I ate, slept, dreamed, and daydreamed Naruto 24/7. I thought and did nothing else! *shudders* Then, a little ways into Shippuden, the plot began to bore me and I stopped watching. I still consider original Naruto to be one of the greatest animes of all time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=58r3AG4ydm0
-Runner up: Pokemon. Most definitely Pokemon. *nods*
-Favorite Anime Theme Song: Stray from Wolf's Rain. This song never fails to give me chills. Its music, lyrics, and tempo will make you want to run through the woods and cry to the full moon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoQuu7GPxAI
Runner up: Re:member from Naruto. It has an awesome beat, great vocals, and it always manages to give me a burst of nostalgia every time I hear it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJfCj8z80xI
Favorite funny anime: HETALIA! OH YEAH! This series of 53 5-minute episodes about the personifications of our world's countries has me in stitches on a regular basis! It's also FULL of fanservice for us nice fangirls. ^_^ dubhappy.com/hetalia-axis-powers-episode-1-english-dub/
-Runner up: ...I don't really watch too many humorous anime. Heh...
Honorable Mentions: Digimon, season 1 and 2. I LOVED the plot, the characters, the theme song, everything! It's a nice, juicy bite of nostalgia. Don't you think? www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwifEYhpe20
Junjo Romantica. I haven't really watched this all the way through because there's more romance than plot. Still, if you want quick Yaoi, this is the show to watch! There are Lemonish scenes but they aren't...eh...explicit. As in you don't learn...about the male anatomy...eh...*trails off awkwardly* THE THEME IS ADORABLE!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B3cqnjyqy4
Sonic X. This was my introduction to Sonic the Hedgehog, and what an intro it was! www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH4lo9HJY9c
Tokyo Mew Mew. Again, I haven't really finished it. I watched and loved Mew Mew Power. Then I saw the Japanese version and realized what an idiot I had been! XD www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu0OWWcdPTM
Bleach. This is why I hate long animes. I'm hooked for 150 episodes, then it starts to bore me. Ah well. What I DID see of Bleach, I loved! I did trail off after the Rescue Rukia arc...but everything beforehand was pure epicness!!! I know I've gone on and on about theme songs, but...these ROCK! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kcFvIFNshM
Ginga Densetsu Weed. This is the sequel to Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. It tells about Gin's son, Weed, who quests to the Ohu mountains to meet his father and save the pack from a Great Dane named Hougen. It's a great series, though not nearly as good as GNG in my opinion. The plot doesn't have the same feel and Weed is waaaay annoying compared to Gin. Still, I obsessively watched every single episode! www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1THUHYy5xY
