I personally see this as more of a friendship than a romance, but this thread isn't limited to that. Still, as for why I put this here, "relationships" don't have to be strictly romance, right?
It's no secret I love Six, but I also love White Knight. Six will always rank as number one but Knight ties Holiday, Rex, and Noah for second. Particularly after seeing the flashback sequences in "Promises, Promises" with Six and Knight as partners.
Those flashback sequences seemed to imply that the pair used to be really close until the ultimate conflict over how to handle the war. A friend of mine and I have joked several times in the past that the relationship was "the bromance that never got off the ground", and we're both hoping for more flashbacks at some point. (Note: I'm using the "close, non-physically intimate relationship between two or more men" definition.)
I can picture Knight as being one of the few people Six is willing to lower his guard to and relax with. In return, I see Six's sense of honor and mercy helping to mellow out Knight. The two were probably very comfortable being around one another since they're used to watching each other's backs, making sure that not only the job gets done but that they both come back from it. I imagine that there was much snickering amongst the Providence grunts, possibly even some joking implications that Six and Knight's partnership ran quite a bit deeper. (To which I could see Six ignoring it and Knight cheerfully flipping those guys off.)
In addition to "Promises, Promises", there are a few other possible subtle indicators that the two's friendship may have been damaged but it didn't necessarily end. In spite of Six's refusal to let Rex be dissected being the root cause of Knight's nanite-free lifestyle that cuts him off from just about everyone, Knight still trusts Six to be his second-in-command. In the Season 1 finale when Knight shows up at the end, you'll notice he's accompanied by Six.
In "A Family Holiday", we even get some evidence of at least Six's influence on Knight. Knight makes a deal with Holiday that if the cure doesn't work, Beverly is not to be brought back to Providence. Notice that that deal says nothing about what happens if the cure does work. And as grouchy as Knight is about there being another relative holing up in Providence, one who probably doesn't have much use outside of being a former incurable human to study, he still lets Beverly stay. To me, it made an interesting echo to Six's sticking to the deal back in "Lockdown" that said as long as Beverly didn't kill anyone that she could stay.
So what do you all think?

I can picture Knight as being one of the few people Six is willing to lower his guard to and relax with.... I imagine that there was much snickering amongst the Providence grunts, possibly even some joking implications that Six and Knight's partnership ran quite a bit deeper. (To which I could see Six ignoring it and Knight cheerfully flipping those guys off.) Now see, I can't see this at all given what has been shown to us thus far. I definitely don't see Six as ever being 'close' to Knight per se. He didn't even trust him with Rex - that's the huge clincher for me. Also, if they really were so close, then Six should never have been surprised that Knight knew his birthday - just an example. They were certainly war buddies, partners, but I think Knight was more invested in their partnership than Six was just based upon the dynamic between them in their commentary during scenes where he's with Knight. This was a job for Six. He took it very seriously, and he took Knight as his partner seriously, but he was growing weary of all of it. I wonder if he even found Knight a bit intrusive personally?:-) Knight knows Six is an invaluable asset to Providence and certainly capable of fulfilling a high ranked leadership position. I hesitate to call them "friends," BUT I can appreciate that there's still some semblance of a friendship based solely on mutual respect between soldiers. They're both exceptional soldiers and they've identified this in one another. I imagine that's why they partnered up in the beginning, though I see Knight approaching Six with this after an initial run-in with him. All in all, I think Knight harbors quite a bit of resentment towards Six, and Holiday for that matter. But Knight's ultimate focus is on winning this war, and clearly he's not afraid to sacrifice himself, or his feelings, towards this end - I think Knight believes he needs Six working for him and Providence to ensure success, so he puts his feelings aside, for the most part, just to get the job done, though I don't see him liking this all that well for obvious reasons. The guy lives in a sterile room -he's a soldier who can't be out on the field now. Because of Six. Does he? I got the impression from him that Bev wouldn't be staying:-)

I like the idea their "friendship" as it stands is based on mutual trust and respect.
Six owes White both for saving his life, and for the fact that it's his fault that White is in that sterile room.
I'd like to think that part of them still has a friendship there, there's just alot of stuff in the way. And White's pretty gruff with most everyone on the show, but he has shown a softer side (like when he somewhat cheerfully told Rex he was glad he was back - can't remember the episode).
And with the stuff that Rex, Holiday and Six have pulled over the course of this show already, if it was anyone else, White probably would've canned them. There has to be some semblance of friendship still around.
Just my thoughts. I really like the idea that White would help Six if really necessary ... dare I wish for even help with Holix?

but he has shown a softer side (like when he somewhat cheerfully told Rex he was glad he was back - can't remember the episode). This was in "Payback" and did you notice the look Six gave White when he told Rex it was good to have him back? Check that out, and tell me what that's about:-) This is VERY true. I believe that White gives these three the most leniency of anyone at Providence which definitely says something. White can be a personal agenda-consumed prick, but he's a loyal prick, and when push really comes to shove, I think he'll do the right thing.

I did like the looks he got (cause if I remember correctly he got one from Holiday too) ... I think it was a kind of "when the heck did you start liking the kid? You hate the kid." Yeah, I think loyalty is a big thing for White. That might be why he's eased up on Rex so much, because even though Rex is completely insane for business, he does do his job and is always there when Providence needs him, and I think White respects that. I don't see White ever really turning on Six, or the others. I'd like to learn some of his backstory though. Did he have a wife? Kids? Someone close who turned and that's why he hates evos? Does Six know any of this? I like to think he does, and that's why he sometimes sticks up for the calls White makes when Holiday and Rex are trying to shout him down.

I know White had that germ phobia thing going on - so its not a far leap to think that he views the EVO epidemic as just that - a 'viral' epidemic. This might also explain why its more important to him to be nanite free and isolated than infected like the rest of the world.

I think personally that Knight and Six used to be quite close but now Knight resents Six in a way for kind of putting him in that little nanite free room, since he blames Six for it in the episode.
But then again I could be wrong XD

Crazyraven, I mentioned at the very beginning that there's more than one definition to "relationship". I personally see the Knight and Six relationship as a partnership and possibly a past friendship. No "getting it on" in that category.
But to go with your comment, older men need love, too. Besides, some of the favored couples on this board involve mature men. Saying that a physical relationship between Knight and Six is grossed based on the fact that those involved are older men to me implies that, say, the Holiday and Six relationship should be gross as well since it involves an older man as well.

No biggie, Raven. I probably took some of your words the wrong way, so sorry if I sounded harsh.
You're probably right on any sort of friendship between the two being pretty much gone now. That fight of theirs was one heck of a falling out, particularly with such nasty results.
I'd like to believe there's something still there though even if it wasn't as strong as it used to be. However, it's probably just wishful thinking.
