That wouldn't explain the voice change. It's more likely that Holiday and the others were detained (or worse but since this IS aimed at a younger audience I doubt they received a double tap to the cerebellum.)

I guess White decided to fill them in on what was really going on and they decided to take preemptive action. Obviously, they didn't succeed.
