Alright so bare with me on this post.
I've been thinking about Rex's parents and his family and what little we do know abotu them. We know that his father and mother both were scientists that were working on the nanite project. We also know that Ceasar was one as well.
Considering Ceasar didn't age after the even until he came back from space- and Rex at least aged five years...considering Ceasar would have had to have some kind of degree- I'm assuming a PHD and/or a Masters of some sort *(doesn't understand how colleges/degrees work)* This would put him in his mid to late twenties I would think unless he was a child genuis and pulled a Holiday. Considering the fact that Ceasar is a FREAKING GENUIS- I bet that is what happened. Could also explain his apparent social retardation. His social skills and interactions with people outside of "HOMG SCIENCE!" Is....well I think we can all agree that there is pretty much no social skills or interactions. This leads me to believe he was a prodigy when he was a child and probably graduated highschool before his **** dropped.
So clearly- Ceasar is a genuis.
Rex's parents were scientists as well. Aside from having two kids that were at least a decade apart they had to be extremely intelligent. Again- I'm assuming they are genuises I'm also assuming Ceasar's age.
ANYWAY back on point- There is a lot of genetics going on there that would make you believe that Rex should have inherited some of that intellect. (as long as he wasnt' a test tube baby made to be experimented on but that's another thread all together) I know it isn't always the case, however lets look at the episode "Without a Paddle"
Rex ACED his Trig test. When every one else was struggling with it- not to mention Noah thought he would bomb it.
Consider, also, that this kid mentally pictures blue prints and then attempts to make them.
So, I'm thinking that Rex has a lot of untapped or unshown intelligence. He clearly has a good head on his shoulders and I nkow that teenage hormones get in the way some times. Especially with guys abotu that age when they stop thinking with their brain and let their genitals and muscles do the thinking for them.
Are we going to see Rex develop more? Is there more to Rex that we see? Or maybe they are setting it up for Rex to develop as a character?...Of course I might be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY off base and Rex is just the loveable everday goof that happens to be the cure for evos and an evo himself- that the series has portrayed him as.
Thoughts?
