Korra meets Amon face to face for the first time and shippers get something to argue over.
Discuss.

Oh god, I just wrote up my rant on this too. >< I hate the fact that shippers are making this episode all about the Makorra/Masami/Borra insanity and completely ignoring everything else that happened, including the bit at the end where Tenzin lets Korra sob all over him even though he's very likely scared of Amon too. Seriously, Korra faced her worst nightmare (not being able to do anything despite being the avatar), breaks down in tears in front of her mentor and shippers are making it all about the @%#^ing love triangle/square/whatever the heck shape it is now?

Gross. Tenzin... and Korra... no but you must admit, relationship with Mako and Asami was a big part of the episode, probably to allow out feeble minds to comprehend that Korra and the main bad guy are going at fighting right away.

Shows a different side of korra and im glad they went there.

Ugh... love triangles are exhausting to me. Honestly though, not sure if getting involved with the daughter of a guy that's funding your team is such a smart idea, but I guess it's no more complicated than going for the avatar. ^^;
I'm glad that they showed this side of Korra, because she may have been training and such most of her life, but she hasn't had to deal with anything terrifying or anyone that could possibly kill her (not that I think Amon would at this point, but she doesn't know that). The world's a scary place, and it's a lot harder to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk.

Okay since this hasn't been addressed yet. SOKKA! And Aang. Okay my mind is going like 100 miles an hour over his one. First of all I had a total HFS moment, that's (holy f*cking sh*t for those who don't speak little) when Ammon pulled his little sneak attack on Korra. Also the Council guy is such an butt. He totally manipulated her into doing something she really didn't want to do for his own personal- political- gain. If he hadn't started that little task force and announced it to the WHOLE F*CKING CITY- then Korra could have kept training and grown stronger. She wouldn't have been forced into issuing a challenge to Ammon before she was ready. I mean that's gotta say something when even the BAD GUY knows she's not ready.
Or maybe form the task force- and keep it quiet! This is one thing that pissed me off in the service. Everytime we'd plan an attack or a mission- someone would blab their mouths. The media would get a hold of it and instead of waiting until the mission or attack was over- they'd announce it to the whole gd world and then turn around and condemn the military because the attack failed! Well good God, what didyou expect? Do you think our enemies don't watch the news? They can't speak English or use the internet?....WHoa back up little- this is Korra...
*takes deep breath* Same concept though. If you want to 'secretly' take out this group- then keep it secret. That's why Amon's army is growing. They keep it on the dl for the most part.
That brings me to another thing- that whole vision with Aang and Sokka- it was briefly mentioned that Aang had faced something similiar in his time. And that could easily be what we saw a glimpse of in her vision. But I'm starting to wonder- is it possible that the same guy, or at least maybe his lineage, is Ammon? Finishing his/his father's work?
Okay now I'll touch on the Mako/Asami thing- we did learn about Mako's scarf. That it belonged to his father. That could be important- also a bit of foreshadowing that might be. The way that Asami's father worded his agreement with Mako regarding his funding for the Fire Ferrets. "There's one catch" or whatever he said. The way he said that was kind of ominous- yes Mako said he'd tattoo it on his chest if he wanted- but I wonder if something is going to happen with that.
Now on to Asami: I wonder if she isn't just a FF fangirl that had the looks and the means to bag herself a Mako?
Back to Korra- the fact that she opened up to Tenzin was very touching. It was a very warm bonding moment that showed a huge development in the mentor/teacher relationship- and he is also acting as a surrogate father while she's away from her parents.
Tenzin has to know that Amon is big trouble. Especially now since he didn't take away Korra's bending.
Ammon- I am not being consistent with this spelling but oh well- is a smart man. He could have destroyed Korra easliy and then no one would have been able to stop him. But that would make her a Martyr. He's going to try to build his army first- and I can completly see him turning the little task force's intentions around and showing them as 'an oppressive force' used by the benders to control the non-benders.
.....I think that's all I've got for now.
