While I was slowly going nuts two weeks ago, my brain asked itself a question that it's asked before for other shows: If the characters from Generator Rex were in a different franchise, what would they be like? I thought it might be fun for people to just speculate and possibly come up with some plotbunnies. (Because I know I got a few for the one I came up with.)
Here's what my brain thought up to get started:
Franchise: Blizzard's World of Warcraft (Yes, I play, shut up.)
Situation: Following The Shattering, the lives of both Horde and Alliance have gotten much more difficult in the following struggle to survive. In the midst of all that, some will rise to become heroes.
Characters:
Rex - One of the orphaned teens of Stormwind who can't remember anything before Deathwing attacked. Not sure what class he'd be, but I'm leaning more towards paladin-in-training because of he likes to run up and punch things in the face but also heals people. Plus it gives him an excuse to see Holiday at the Cathedral even when he's not injured. Little boy crush lasts! To keep with the machines thing, I could see him being fascinated by Gnomish engineering and periodically tinkering with it as a hobby.
Dr. Holiday - I originally pegged her as either a paladin or a mage but then figured she'd be a priest. Of course, she's a priest who not only wields the Light to heal wounds and cure the sick, she's quite handy with Shadow magic to wear down her opponents. I'd want to come up with a first name for her since it'd definitely be her real name. She kind of takes Rex under her wing as she teaches him the healing portions of his duties as paladin and will constantly roll her eyes at his pick up lines.
Agent Six - The stoic assassin rogue. A former mercenary that was hired by SI:7 due to his talents. Six, of course, would have to go through a name change, so I decided to give him the name Adamek Smith though he's often referred to by either "Adam" or "Smith". "Adamek" is actually a variant on "Adam" (since when I rolled him, Adam was already taken) that simply means "a man". Nobody knows whether or not this is his actual name. Still figuring out how he links up with Holiday and Rex.
That's all I've got. Though, to be honest, I'd really like to fiddle with this world. I was already thinking about drabbling some Fusion Fall stuff in the Warcraft universe. Maybe I'll actually do it.
