Well yeah but in "Wasteland" he used one
And in Frostbite (for like the 2nd half of the episode)

In Frostbite, he used one of his current katanas. That wasn't any different if you notice. And his twin katanas can't be the only things he has as weapons (asides from his shuriken)

(And thank you, I watched "frostbite' and "wasteland" simultaneously and i thought
"Oh no where the heck are his twin katanas?"
(I think they make him stand out against all the other stereotypical ninjas)

He doesn't always whip out both of his katanas - he seems to prefer using just one at times. Like Awesome said, sometimes he just uses his retractable shurikens:-)

We have a name for them now " magna blades ". makes sense rexs powers to need to make machines out of metal and all.
