The Effect of Memory Loss in the Current Timeline

I've been kind of thinking lately about those "blackouts" that Rex used to have before the show's time frame. It seems inevitable that Rex will eventually lose his memory some time. After all, why have that potential plot device there when they're not even going to use it?

I remember Six saying that his memory wipes were probably caused by something traumatic, and with what Rex has to deal with on a day to day basis, I say traumatic seems to be right up his alley. Rex even seems to be expecting it.

What I'm wondering is how do you think the show is going to handle it. Where do you think they might introduce this and how do you think it's going to be handled by Providence and the people closest to Rex?

Also, how do you think Rex will regain his memories? It seems inevitable as well that Rex will remember who he is, since that is one of his goals after all, right? To find out who he is? Will it be one fell swoop or more broken memories?

I'm kind of not sure myself. XD; This show goes in all sorts of weird directions that it's hard to really tell where his memory loss might occur, or if it will happen at all. How bad would a situation or outcome have to be for it to be considered traumatic enough for Rex to lose his memory? He's gone through some pretty crazy things, and not much seems to have fazed him. XD;

Oh god, I 'd love to see Man of Action actually use that in an epsiode.

I myself would just like to see more about this whole memory deal in general. What I really, really, really want is to see (and explore) is more of Rex's previous selves. Who would they be? Where would they be? What would they do and who would they know? How much would they know about their powers, and how would they use them? How much would their personalities differ from the current!Rex, if they differed at all? And for that matter, how does current Rex differ from pre-Event!Rex? I mean, they would be different because pre!Rex is just a kid, one who could have been sheltered or bratty or a bookworm or just like current!Rex. Ohhhhh yes, so many glorious, endless possibilities! The potential theories.....hmmm, this could go soooo many ways! If MoA doesn't do something awesome with this I will a sad little kitty indeed!

As far as we are aware he has at least two 'past selves' the one before the explosion and the one before he went full EVO and lived in Japan. In both of these he had a group of people close to him, we learn that the explosion killed a lot of them, sent one into space and than Rylander failed at live and didn't try to find Rex. Than we learn that while in japan/hong kong he had a video diary that he gave to some one else instead of keeping to have as a back up and now Rex has his journal to write in and the picture from the hong kong ep + what he looked like in the flash back ep shows that he couldn't have been in mexico long before going EVO. We also know that hong kong rex had few morals other than hanging with his friends and stealing money for Quarry which is totally different from current Rex.

I'm all for the traumatic causing him to loose his memory- learning soemthing horrible that causes his memory to go 'Nope. Too much. Reboot" or loosing someone close to him or something- but I'd like to see Rex go bad guy on us. Then watch as the other characters have to not only fight to save the world from Rex but fight to save him so he can save the world....

It makes perfect sense. Like he went renegade (I love that word >w<) and Six/Holiday/Bobo have to kick his sorry arse so that he may go back to curing the sorry EVOs in the world. 0=3
