I hate swimming in pools. Gimme a lake or ocean, but not a chlorine-infested pool. -Pulls off swim team sweatshirt and whistles- oh yeah... Chlorine is awful...

Get your heads out of your ARSES and make something that isn't a PILE OF $#!7!!! S'cuse my French, this is UNACCEPTABLE. ONATA BAKA DESU. BAKA BAKA BAKA. And. AND. AND.FOR THE LOVE OF ************* CRAP! THAT IS A MY LITTLE YOSHI, NOT A POKEMON.

*twitch* Don't even get me started that there are two remakes instead of the usual one... Greedy b*$****$, those companies are... *cries* Pokemon's dead. It's over. They keep trying to make more OMFGSOEPICWOWAWESOME stuff, but the exact same tactics from fifteen years ago isn't working.
It's like the media/companies/whatever try to keep people in a constant state of impulse-buying-fangasm or something. Only sheep(-like people) do that. The part of the world's population that actually have brains know better.
*cries*
EDIT: And where's those Ruby/Sapphire remakes they promised?! LIARS!!

And yet, Pokemon will continue to sell. Know why? Because every time there's a new generation of games, there's a new generation of kids who will be discovering the series through that generation of games. And they're going to think the generation they started playing in was the best, for absolutely no reason other than the fact they started playing in that generation and either don't know the earlier ones, or have a superiority complex that tells them theirs is better because of graphics/gameplay mechanics/wtfever else comes to mind. I haven't considered Pokemon "worth following" since Hoenn, but I've played and liked at least something about both generations since then.
Unova's actually a decent area, some of the characters actually have more to them than the typical Pokemon character, I find the legendaries interesting. Do I like it better than Kanto? Absolutely not, for absolutely no reason other than the fact I first got hooked on Pokemon because of Kanto and the Pokemon from the first generation. Pokemon doesn't continue to sell because people are "sheep", it continues to sell because children like simple video games, and regardless of what anyone else seems to think, Pokemon never has been and never will be anything but a simple button masher. All their attempts to make it into anything else - Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, the Trading Card Game video game, etc - have all done horribly compared to the main series, because that isn't the sort of thing people want when they think Pokemon.
As soon as the kids playing it start to want more to their games than button mashing, the move on to different games. It's a simple fact of life, and Nintendo will continue milking the series for everything it can for as long as children are willing to beg their parents to spend money on it. You can either give the new installments an actual chance, ignore them completely or whine about it. I recommend the first one. Imagine if no one had been willing to give Gold and Silver a chance when they were first released for Game Boy; Nintendo would have stopped making new Pokemon games right then and there, because there'd have been no interest. Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova would never have existed, the only people who'd know anything about the series are the ones from my generation, who happened to be 5-15 years old when they first came out To put that in perspective; I got Pokemon Blue for my 8th birthday, 4 days after it was first released in the US, and Pokemon Gold when it came out, just shy of two weeks after my 10th birthday.
As for Ruby and Sapphire remakes? Hi there, let me introduce you to the fact people started demanding a Gold and Silver remake the second FireRed and LeafGreen were announced, and the fact we didn't get those until five years later. Not to mention the fact they were made for a fairly recent console, on top of being the worst selling games of the main series. They very likely won't get remakes until there's another new generation "Game Boy"/DS, if they even get them then (due to the whole worst selling games of the main series thing).
Alright, I'm done. >_>

I completely agree with you, but I'm trying not to speak on a bias - actually comparing the overall quality of the regions. Pokemon's already about to hit retirement - The creatures are insanely strange and object- rather than organism-like. Not the amorphous Pineco, Metagross, Magneton, and Bronzong - I mean the chandelier, trash bag and ice cream cone... STILL not over that last one... *grumbles* The plots are becoming more and more cliche with an almost disgusting level of "^w^ awesome!" smiles and " Let's do it!" 'epic'. The starters... suck. Tepid/pig - the word tepid means lukewarm. Not the best name compared to the others - charcoal/salamander, cinder/quill (kind of hedgehoggy), torch/chick, chimp/charcoal. Osha - what?*sigh* I get really strong opinions and won't back down. @_@ However, I'll readily see both sides of an argument, and back up my points so I think they have as little flaws of possible. Not being a Nazi, definitely not, just trying to baffle you all with psychology be reasonable. *shuts up and steps off the soap box* EDIT: ...Pokemon doesn't continue to sell because people are "sheep", it continues to sell because children like simple video games... Sheep much? "OMG A NEW VIDEO GAME! LEMME BUY!" And there is so much more to it than a simple video game - mechanics! *is trying to memorise the damage calculation formula so I can jot down my Pokemon's stats and battle with my friends without a DS*

And there is so much more to it than a simple video game - mechanics! *is trying to memorise the damage calculation formula so I can jot down my Pokemon's stats and battle with my friends without a DS* Honey, that's called an obsession. 90% of people who buy these games don't care about anything but the fact there's very little actual level grinding involved in playing; they can pick it up, walk the path to the next city and be able to battle the next gym leader, without having to spend hours longer than they would normally in the area trying to level up. So yes, Pokemon is a very simple RPG to the average player. Including me; I lost interest in the series completely the second I started even considering EVs and IVs and all that other nonsense, because if I want a difficult game, I'll play D&D or one of my other many RPGs.

Sure. I actually wanted to play the game more when I found out about EVs and IVs and all that. lol
Pokemon was totally not the most sophisticated thing I'd ever found to my five-year-old mind in a school where no-one was like me and I could try and memorise everything complicated about it to take my mind off the $#!7 and bullying and shunning that I had to go through every day. This is the rant thread.

The Youtube Nazis deleted a vid that I really like on the grounds of copyrights. Sounds normal, right? Well, this was an AMV for a MOVIE using an anime that MANY people make videos for and a song that was posted on the site BY the artists. >_<
