I just had a brainstorm 2 days ago.
Remember how Swat Six asked young Rex if he had "a grandma where I can dump you?" And Rex said no?
I started immediately thinking about "Night Falls." Because, although Rex didn't remember it at the time, he did have something close to a grandma: Abuela. And he was in Mexico, when he turned into that walking Bionicle. Something may have happened there. He may have gone EVO in Abuela's village and scared her and her family etc away or something. Whatever it is, Abuela somehow knew he was in Providence. Maybe going EVO in Mexico had something to do with Abuela cos she lives there.

...Was it ever explicitely stated it he was in Mexico? And I think Abuela said "your work with Providence was on the news" or something.
Either way, that's a good theory. I would have never thought of that!

She said that she's been following his work with them closely. And yes, Six and Knight had to go to Mexico to sic'em.

Not to be an ant at a picnic- but just because he Rexilla'd in Mexico doesn't mean that it was the same town Abuela is in. -_- Mexico is a lot bigger than just one town.

Okay, two things.
It was never stated that they were in Mexico. Someone just assumed it and it spiraled from there. Plus, she may have known he was in Providence, because a lot of their fights are, apparently from the crazy news lady, televised. Rex is pretty famous around the world. I mean, remember the underwear?
BUT, I have been looking into Caesar being a baddy and having more than one reason to go Abuela. I was thinking that he knew about the wereEVOs, but it may because that's where Rex went apeshitnuts on us. >> So, that said, quite possible.

The theory was Mexico City, so... she may have meant that. I still don't know if it was even Mexico. No one does, it's just a theory that went nuts.

It was never stated that they were in Mexico. I didn't think it was but I didn't want to say so without verifying that.

Actually, the wiki said he was found in Mexico. And yeah, walking bionicle....No comment. First thing that sprang into my head.

Word of advice. Never listen to the wiki.

Word of advice. Never listen to the wiki. Here, here! It just ruins your perception of the series. It's never explicitly stated that they found Rex in Mexico. If I'm remembering this correctly, it was Rex who asked if they were in Mexico after he realized he could speak Spanish.

Or the site rather.
