As they trotted around the corner of the school, Shima's claws clicking on the ground, the tiger-horse snorted, his ear twitching as he heard the other people talking by the fountain.
"Keep going, boy." Irori murmured. "We don't need anyone ratting us out before we get away."

Eri laughed, "You don't have to. You could always have her kill you slowly, but you don't have to." She walked back on campus, pushing her hair out of her face.

Nipo shrugged. "So you have any siblings? Are you related to those other two water benders?"

Eri shook her head, "No no, well Bolu is like a third cousin. I've just known them forever. We all share an apartment."
---
The lanky firebender stepped out in front of the tiger horse. "Pretty animal."

Nipo nodded. "Ah so an only child." He reached over and opened the door for her.

Irori blinked in surprise, drawing Shima up short. She regarded the lanky young man for a moment before deciding that he didn't look like the type to tattle on her for ditching class. "Thank you." She smiled hesitantly.
Shima's ears perked forward and his nostrils flared, recognizing the pleasant, smoky scent that accompanies a firebender.

He nodded at her, "Didn't know they allowed animals on campus."
---
Eri smiled, "Thanks." She regarded the door, slipping in. "No, I had a younger brother, but he died when I was fourteen."

Nipo frowned. "That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that."

Irori's hesitant smile turned into a conspiring smirk. "They don't." She winked.
Shima snorted, leaning his head forward to examine the boy more closely.

She smiled weakly, "It's alright. He's with the moon spirit now."
--
The tall firebender stared the animal in the eyes, his molten gold colored ones daring the beast to move. "Don't let them catch you."

Nipo leaned against the door and smiled. "I'll wait for you here."

Eri walked in, chatting with the woman at the front desk for a while before taking her schedule and throwing her hands in the air and complaining loudly. The woman at the desk shrugged and offered a few sympathies, then mentioned something about not wanting to overload her after a nasty breakup. Eri complained loudly some more before grumbling her way back out the door, shoving the schedule in her pocket.

Shima growled quietly, his ears going back as his yellow eyes took on a feral gleam.
Irori tightened her grip on the reins and looked sharply at the boy. "Look down! Tiger-horses don't like it when you look them in the eye! They take it as a challenge of dominance!"

Nipo looked up blinking. "What was that about?"

The man nodded, "I know."
---
Eri grumbled, "They put me on pro-bending duty. I get to go to all the matches and practices and sit around playing nurse if they get hurt! UGH!"
