I dunno why...but I have a feeling they'll end up breaking the relationship after a few problems and sometime later, they're gonna reform slowly again. At least they have a base for their relationship, a reason to get back if they fall apart...

I hate to be a buzz kill but Six asking her out was probably hurdle number one, and there's a whole obstacle course left. If hurdle 1 made me squeal this much...imagine a whole obstacle course... EEEEEK!

BUT, I have to admit it's a realistic possibility, unfortunately:-(

It's an intersting comparison, but I don't think that it can work like that. Kevin and Gwen had history and a lot of it, if the original Ben 10 series are taken into consideration. The canonization of that pairing was a big deal, as Alien Force is the sequel series. Holix doesn't have this kind of advantage, since all we have is the Meet Cute (kinda?), and one and a half season of the show, unless they decide to explore the five years before the pilot happened (which would be a very good, but rather cliche flashback-much move). The cute moments are welcomed, if they won't ruin the character (that was the main downfall of Alien Force for me). They problem is, both Holiday and Six are not emotional teenagers, and they don't battle the feelings. It was pretty obvious from the very beginning that Holiday had them. And, from what I can tell, Six had them too, but he grew to accept them due to his main Heart of Gold quality. There is a slight chance that Six will have problems balancing professionalism and his thing with Holiday, but I think MOA will pull the We-are-dating-but-nothing-changed card (since it's implied that he has to learn from his previous mistakes).
Well, we already had jealous Six in "Familly Holiday", represented through Who-the-f****-is-this-guy-and-stop-fangirling-over-him attitude. That's good enough for me.
Shipping Bed Death (I have no idea, it's actually supposed to be Shipping Death Bed) can be summed up in one quotefrom my old lecturers: "Nobody likes a happy couple." I could challenge that opinion, but in some cases it turns out to quiet true. It happens when a fan base, that so eagerly awaited the Relationship Upgrade, actually gets it and doesn't know what to do with it. Like "OMG THIS sh*t JUST GOT CANON! SO now we are going to... Uh... Huh." Actually, I think it was a very smart move not to make them kiss, since that would have been IT for real, but the way they glued both Six's pep(you-are-the-best-woman-I-ever-met)-talk and relationship upgrade in one episode was kinda risky.

Actually, Ler, you could easily argue that Gwen and Kevin have some history but probably not a lot. I've watched all three series, and Kevin was primarily focused on Ben in the first series. It wasn't until Alien Force that he paid Gwen much mind. (Do feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) He knew she was there but largely ignored her.
Holiday and Six have a little history going back about 18 months to just before Rex was brought to Providence. Though they might've seen one another in passing from time to time. After all, Holiday ID'd Six as a mercenary though she probably didn't know his name if Six's introduction was anything to go by.
So in terms of history, both couples are on somewhat equal ground though I still say comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. The only thing we can do is look at how MoA handled one and theorize based on that how he'll handle the other.

I'm not going to push the matter, for I was never too invested in the original series, but I know a few people who claimed to ship Kevin/Gwen even in the original. Something to do with her feeling sorry for him, Brooding Boy/Gentle Girl kind of scenario.
Actually, when I watched the flashback, it seemed like that was the first time those two actually met. And the encounter had an impact, because as much as I want them to be Opposites Attract, they are actually Birds of a Feather.

The flashback in "Promises, Promises" I assumed took place 18 months before the episode Rex and Six find Aquania (the name escapes me) since Six comments that Rex only remembers the previous 18 months. Sorry I was unclear, but yes I agree that moment was the first time they actually met.

I... Wow, how did I even for get about that?.. Talking about "Promises, Promises", it was the 19th episode of the first season, and coinsidentaly Six's birthday. And we are on 15th (?) episode of the second one, so if my math is correct, we might have a glorious birthday episode soon! And I'm not talking about Rex turning 17.

It's okay. I just have a tendency to remember the most random stuff. Ooh, I hope you're right! Or maybe we'll get a Holiday birthday episode since it doesn't seem like Rex or Holiday realizes that that date really was Six's birthday.

They are like a tumor. I blame my university years. Nobody is safe. =D Theya re actually kinda good to discuss basic narrative techniques and possible plot developments. ))
To remember somebody's birthday, you have to know it first. I have a stange feeling nobody knows Holiday's birthday either.

I'm not surprised that Holiday and Rex didn't know Six's birthday though I am surprised that Knight knew it.
And I imagine Six probably knows Holiday's birthday. Probably found out while looking up more information about Providence's new head scientist after Fell was kicked out. Though Holiday would probably feel really guilty if he got her a little something but never told her his birthday.
